Our vision

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah.

Bakhtiyar Khilji Kindergarten, School and Madrasa is established to present some enlightened human being to the society. It longs for some balanced citizens through its teaching as education should never be biased and commercialized in any sense.

Throughout the world, there is a common tendency to lay particular emphasis on modern education, namely maths, science, English, ICT, history, philosophy, etc. Some people singled out these subjects from the holistic idea of education, though the plain truth is that religious teaching and knowledge, along with all branches of knowledge, is intimately related and they complete one another. Clearly speaking, any knowledge or education that excludes the teaching of the Almighty Allah or of any religion (Hindu, Christian or Bhuddism) that nourishes the spiritual self of the human being makes people partial, selfish and worldly. Secular education is the logical consequence of the failure of the then religion in the Europe and thus was a necessity there during the middle age. Yes, it has still some benefits there due to the nature of relationship between the State and the religion. But only secular education devoid of any religious schooling makes people spiritually paralyzed and beggar as it, by nature, never submits itself to the will of God the Most Benevolent anyway.

Good education makes the pupils find their identity and address in this world and the hereafter because it believes in the development of soul and body together. We need that education that makes the future leaders intellectually settled, kind, altruistic, amiable, spiritually alive, and ethically smart and talented.

The sad reality is that there is a big, young and meritorious part of the society, who are with madrasa background and cannot play that much role in the area of finance, mechanics, medicine, agriculture, civil services, legal areas, administrative areas in the N.G.Os, etc. It is because the Islamic education they receive remains unlinked to the modern subjects. This leaves them uncompetitive in jobs and to some extent less balanced for this postmodern age of corporate media, information and technology. They forget that having sufficient knowledge or a Master’s degree in this areas is a skill similar to the skill of having a Master’s degree in Islamic area and that skill will make them smarter to face the challenges in this complex world. Though the Muslims in the Madanian society dealt with medicine, engineering, economics, agriculture, philosophy, poetry, architecture, art, etc, most Islamic scholars, nowadays, hardly try for a society like this and they seem to box these established practices into the four walls of madrasas. They never understand that a Hafeez (of the Quran) or Alim doctor can work more and achieve more in this world and the hereafter. But who cares?

There is another problem. The colonial and imperial forces and their agents, inside and outside, have fragmented the societies, lives and education into so many parts, and made education so expensive that common people hardly can reach the door of a good education institution. On the other hand, it is, in most cases, so mechanic, biased and calculated that few pupils come out from these institutions with a balanced idea of life. Even secular education that ensures a good job is now for the rich and elite; not for the middle or working class people any more. Again, the education for the poor children in the state schools is really messy. This picture is very common all over the whole world. If you visit any poor country like Bangladesh, you will hardly find the poor children with good education in the sense of having enough resources, trained teachers, balanced curriculum and proper education environment. Incomplete guidance and unhealthy atmosphere in education have made the world a place of unrestricted competition, where few people are causing the troubles and controlling us.

So we have to make sure that the children of the nation get balanced education to learn justice and have real love for their parents, neighbours and people of the country and the world as a whole. The problems ahead are really complex and we need to get our kids prepared to win over those difficulties. At the same time, we must teach them the basic rules Allah the Almighty has ordained. We must teach them the Sirah or biographies of the prophets’ as they are the best men to be followed. BKSM makes its effort to reach that goal. It tries to help the learners to achieve success in the world and the hereafter. We make sure that every child matters and is equal in getting education in our schools. We make sure the equal opportunity for all kids as we have the dream of a society full of respect, love and sharing.

Why Bakhtiyar Khilji School & Madrasa?

No nation can be self-dependant without its own education policy. Borrowing or merely imitation can only make us borrower or follower without anything of our own. It makes the follower academic slave to the followed. Bakhtiyar Khilji endeavours to guide the whole nation with the original idea of education, as such, of this nation.

There might be a question: why is religious education? Firstly, religious education beside the national curriculum is an acknowledged and established right of the minority and majority groups in the developed and developing countries. It is a must for the existence of our faith, traditions and values. Bakhtiyar Khilji School helps you to gain the knowledge of this credence and morals and then put them into practice. It tries to make our pupils spiritually smart and impartial.

Secondly, BKSM through its well-designed team and teaching plan makes an effort for the best academic performance to produce some talented citizens to meet the challenges in the present and ahead.

We feel that a little learning or incomplete idea about any religion often provokes the learners to be an extremist. They are deceived and spoiled very easily. And we have seen its danger very recently. So the students should be guided with the correct idea of faith, life and career from the very start of their life. If not, fragmented conception or learning of the religion or education will make them blind and helpless. BKSM is a challenge to the prejudice and extremism.

Again, the students must be built in a balanced way. We do not claim to be perfect but we do research and try to reach the perfection. This is a unique opportunity for the parents to give their kids both education at the same time; religious and the modern academic education together. But we have the lacking of manpower, resources and so many difficulties from different corners.

However, we are very strict about controlling the quality of education. We have regular monthly parents meeting, monthly exam, quarterly term exam, regular assessment of the teacher and teaching methods. We believe our efforts will be very useful to fulfill your desire to make your kid reach the target In-sha-Allah.

Our future plan

Academically speaking, our students are good at English as we have English version maths, and other sorts of back up with a lot of English terminologies. We are not happy with it though . We have a plan to turn BKSM to a perfect semi-English medium school In-sha-Allah by 2024. Our main problem is skilled teachers. We have already decided to give B.Ed training to some 7-10 teachers in the 2024-25 sessions in the Open University. And the successful and promising teachers will be selected for M.Ed In-sha-Allah.

Our plan is to run a Junior Secondary school so that our products are not lost. Currently, we have around 50 students and are working for permission for exams. We have already started our work and contacted Natore Education office and Rajshahi Education Board and Education Ministry. The whole thing is under process.
